Rebecca Danz, world champion of lady riders employed at Stall Diana in Mülheim, is the winner of the most important competition for Germany's lady riders, the Albers & Sieberts Buchmacher GmbH - Perlenkette 2019, a racing series for lady riders that consists of three runs on sand held at the beginning of the year.
In the competition, which has been held since 1961, Danz topped the ranks over Olga Laznovska and Sibylle Vogt after the last of three classification runs. A victory in one of the three races with Lunar Prospect and a third place with the same horse in the final race on Sunday was enough to win the series.
At the award ceremony Rebecca Danz admitted: “In the finale I didn't know whether I had won or not. It was only on the way back from the track, that I was told that the third place was enough. I've been riding for a few years now, but the Perlenkette has never worked out for me. Quite often, I was on duty in St. Moritz at that time, but winning the Perlenkette is a dream for every woman in a racing saddle,“ said the 29-year-old in conversation with presenter Peter Glasmacher.
